    I just saw District B13.

    I like film.

Speaking of which, I have an all-access ticket to the Atlanta Film Festival (hell yeah!).

I'd love to see something with you (but you have to get your own ticket, the system only lets me get one pass per film) :)

In fact, my two little films are in the festival (somehow). Thursday, June 15th, 7PM or 9:45PM at Lefont Garden Hills Cinema, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to buy tickets ahead of time (hit that link). I know everyone's pretty much seen them many times already, so I won't be offended at all if you can't make it :)

    Videos!
My animation friend Joanna got her film on AtomFilms:

    http://www.atomfilms.com/af/content/juxtaposer

She gets some tiny amount of money if you watch it. It is absolutely worth watching: similar in style to Pat Smith :) She has been so nice to me and is so easy to talk to!

Anyway, I'd be very curious to hear anyone's opinion on what works in it and what doesn't. Personally I find the drawing and animation quite beautiful (this girl drew on paper!!!) but I think it could maybe use some more sound or something.

Also, a girl at work (one of a very few) came up to me the other day and said she'd seen Chickenheads. "Huh??" I said. She'd found it on Google Video when she searched for Ren and Stimpy!

    http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=ren+stimpy

This means Sean, Bobby, Garrett, and Steve's names are in Google Video. How about that? If you search Google Video for Garrett's full name, for instance, there's Chickenheads.

Finally, speaking of video, how come everyone is using YouTube suddenly? Is Google Video not as cool? There were like three YouTube links posted on John K's latest post (they're all fascinating). Has anyone used both Google Video and YouTube? Maybe it's simply easier to post things on YouTube.

If I get ahold of a digital camera, I'm totally gonna try to contribute to the flickr ATL graffiti pool. One thing I adore about this city is its graffiti. And apparently, according to Ward (who has a few pics in that pool), MYLK went to RISD, how bout that??

Also: Diana was so right, Kaki King is amazing. I wish I'd seen her live.

Wow. So it seems like there's more to 9/11 than I thought. This is definitely an interesting watch:

Edit: It's a bit chilling. You might not want to watch it all alone like Lauren did!

So I'm at work, in my cubicle, and I hear my friend Avery (he's really, really smart and loves Vault cola) answer his phone.

"Hi, mom. Mm hm. Mm hm. Yeah.... Okay. Click Start..."

Well, there's not much to protect against everyone hearing this, so several of us in nearby cubicles couldn't help but start laughing. Poor Avery!

A little later he was painstakingly spelling out the "ipconfig" command for his mom to type...

So there are moments here and there where I actually like being surrounded by geeks.

Wow, so the party was actually quite a lot of fun!

I dozed off about an hour before it started, and as I was doing that the idea for my costume came to me: rip three holes in a trash bag and wear it! Someone saw it and said, "Aha, white trash!" and from then on that's what I said I was.

I met two hilarious dudes, who were calling themselves Derrick and Daryl and acting like hillbillies. Derrick had on a cap and gown and was like, "I jus' graduated!! Took me seven years, but I done finished high school!" Interesting because I'd watched "Hillbilly Hare" just earlier today, hah.

Anyway, I befriended them and their friend Wes, who had some large fake breasts and a grey wig for his costume as a "hot mama", haha.

I actually hung out with these dudes (minus Wes and plus Jennifer, who was dressed as a cop) at Daryl's place afterwards and felt really comfortable with them!! :D I hope I hang out with them again. It was so nice... Friends are important, I think that's what I miss most from Tallahassee.

Alex and Marty came by and visited, which was awesome, and I showed them selections from Avoid Eye Contact volume 2. Alex's favorite is Fetch! :)

Speaking of which!!! Nina Paley herself commented on this dumb little journal of mine! Christ. The Internet is strange/amazing like that, isn't it? Someone you admire so much and think is so far away and remote, can be reached surprisingly easily... Reminds me of Kirk telling me how he'd IM'd Bruce Campbell one time.

Geez, between Nina's comment (eee!) and Marty's asking me if I'd done any animation lately, I need to get off my ass and do some, even though work takes so much time and energy.

Tomorrow I'm going to buy a damn table, so I have a place to draw comfortably.

Avoid Eye Contact Volume 2, a collection of animated shorts from NYC artists, is incredible...

Three of my favorites are online:

    Frog
    Fetch!
    The Stork

The last two, Fetch! and The Stork, are by Nina Paley who is a goddamn genius.

    Colby and Cameron surprised me!!

They waited around for like an hour for me to come home from work!

I love them!! We talked of Cremaster. Cameron showed Colby my gross bathroom sink and told the funny story about Winky the roach.

    Cameron's headed to Chicago now.

I'm going to put Einstein's Brain to DVD for the OAF film fest.
